Graduate & Licensure

Since its founding in 1887, Alverno College has been a leader in education and has been nationally and internationally recognized for the faculty’s work with ability-based education and performance-based assessment. In 1996, Alverno initiated a Master of Arts in Education program as its first graduate offering. Now, a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Science in Community Psychology for Licensed Professional Counselors, a Master of Science in Nursing, Master of Music Therapy, Master of Organizational Leadership & Development, Master of Instructional Design and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice are also offered. These programs carry on Alverno’s tradition in the liberal arts, focusing on integrative, experiential, and reflective approaches to learning. All graduate programs at Alverno are open to women and men and are offered in a convenient evening and weekend timeframe. Students of any color, race, age, religion, and national or ethnic origin are welcome at Alverno.
